Complete site overhaul, with logo design and light brand development
This build was designed with an eye for the client's upcoming ventures as a professor and PhD candidate. The font choices, color scheme, site copy, and general design convey professionalism and integrity, essential to the client's current and future station in the field of academia. The client's work as a music professional is subtly made to run parallel to this, with an intuitive media page and a performance calendar featuring early.
Multi-functional website to serve as a portal for clients seeking to hire live entertainment, obtain music lessons, or find info on upcoming performances.
My own entertainment company website, this build makes use of large splash images with strong depth-of-field effects, along with concise section descriptions and easy-to-locate buttons, to quickly call the user to action. A simple PHP/JSON-driven calendar management system, behind an authentication wall, was also implemented.
Worked directly with Glass Elephant's owner developing a fully-functional site from wireframes under a tight deadline. Wrote a vast majority of copy for the site, and optimized images considerably.
Making the site user-friendly for a wide demographic was of particular importance to Glass Elephant. Several design elements and branding options were tested with the client before the current site iteration was finalized.
Worked with lead developer Aaron Allen to update JazzInAustin's somewhat outdated visual design. Also assisted in testing and debugging the site's custom-built PHP/MySQL login system.
Full-stack site build, including custom login system and scratch-built calendar management system, as well as site-wide copywriting and image editing.
Creating a striking brand for Ms. DeClue was of particular importance. Many site visitors are either potential clients or audience members who had seen a live show. The final site design and color scheme was chosen from several performance photographs and wardrobe selections.
Widgets, applets, and games beyond the scope of simple experiments, (although there is some overlap). Also several projects making use of APIs from Twitch, Wikimedia, and OpenWeather.
Wide array of snippets and experiments manipulating the HTML5
globalCompositeOperation studies, and game programming.
I'm a web developer currently living in Austin, designing websites and building customer-facing web solutions for clients on a freelance basis. I also occasionally work as a web design consultant.
I'm a fanatic about code and design--one of those that can stay up through the wee hours getting things pixel-perfect.
When I'm not digging through code, you're likely to find me either behind a game controller or at a jazz club in Austin with a guitar.
